Fees deadlines are not listed in the Sessional Dates and do not necessarily correspond with academic deadlines. This information is included in the Blue Book issued by the Registrar's Office, and is available on the web at http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/fees/

15 Minimum registration prepayment due: after this date late registration administration fee applies

16 Last day to cancel application for supplemental examinations without academic or financial penalty

30 QCARD is available to complete the final stages of registration process for students who have preregistered and made the minimum payment

30 First Day for upper year students to pick up validation stickers after completing registration on QCARD

September

1 Last day to apply for re-admission (for students required to withdraw)

6 Orientation begins (arrival day)

6 Labour Day and Welcoming Ceremony for new students

7-9 Supplemental Examinations

8-14 Qualifying Examinations for First Year Students

7 Students may add and drop courses on QCARD

8 First Year students pick up timetable and Calendar, 9 -11 am

10 First Year students receive photo-id card and validation sticker

10-14 Upper Year students pick up validation stickers after confirming registration on QCARD

13 Fall Term classes begin

20 Last day to apply to transfer from another faculty

21 Last day of registration (with extra fee) for students without permission for late registration. After this date students must appeal in writing to the Operations Committee.

24 Last day to add a Fall Term or sessional course or to change from one engineering program to another engineering program

30 Deadline for payment of balance of tuition fees without incurring interest charges

11 Thanksgiving Day (classes will not be held)

16 University Day

28 Fall Convocation

November

5 Last day to withdraw voluntarily from Fall Term courses

11 Remembrance Day Services (classes cancelled 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.)

6 Commemoration Day

8 Fall Term Reading Period ends

9 Fall Term final examinations begin

22 Fall Term ends. Final Examinations end.

10 Winter Term classes begin

10 Last day to register without financial penalty for students not registered in any other courses

17 Extended Program classes begin

21 Last day to add a Winter Term course or to change an academic program

21 Last day to withdraw from sessional course

24 Discipline Orientation begins

28 Last day to apply to rewrite a first year Fall Term examination

28 Last day to add a Fall Term Extended Program course

31 Last day to withdraw from program without failure of year

4 Last day to drop a Fall Term Extended Program course or to cancel, without academic penalty, application to rewrite a First Year Fall Term examination.

11-12 Annual Meeting of Queen's Advisory Council on Engineering

21-25 Mid-term reading week

23-25 Extended Program First Term examinations

28 Extended Program Winter Term classes begin

3 Last day to withdraw voluntarily from Winter Term courses

13 Last day to add a Winter Term Extended Program course

27 Course outline and timetable for the 2000/2001 academic session available from departments

3 Pre-registration on QCARD begins for all years

7 Winter Term classes end

7 Last day to drop a Winter Term Extended Program course

10 Final Examinations begin

21 Good Friday (exams will not be held)

29 Winter Term ends. Final Examinations end

1 Surveying Field Schools (CIVL 211 and CIVL 215) begins (8 days)

1 Spring Term begins for Extended First Year

8 Surveying Field Schools (CIVL 211 and CIVL 215) finish

19 Last day for students in the regular First Year Program to register to rewrite second term courses of the First Year

22 Victoria Day (classes will not be held)

26 Spring Convocation

June

1 Last day to apply for a dual degree program for the next fall session

9 Classes for Extended First Year end

12-17 Extended Program examinations

15 Last day to apply and submit payment for supplemental examination privileges
