Engineering Physics 2000-01

Core courses in the Engineering Physics program provide the student with fundamental physical principles and theoretical tools for professional practice as well as a firm foundation in modern experimental techniques. To relate these abilities to the attitudes and knowledge of other engineering disciplines, the program has four options: electrical, materials, mechanical and computing. These options provide a sequence of courses in other engineering departments and thus provide career or graduate studies opportunities in both engineering and applied physics.

Complementary Studies

The program contains 262 AU in Complementary Studies. Of these, 46 AU in Communications are contained in core courses in Physics. 36 AU in Linkage studies are required, and are normally taken in the First Year. COMM 244 contributes 36 AU in Engineering Economics. 144 AU of additional CS courses are required, of which a minimum of 108 AU in Humanities and Social Sciences must be chosen from the list in the Complementary Studies section.
