Information for Employers
Queen's Undergraduate Internship Program (formerly known as The Experience Option) has been successfully operating since 1989. This success has been built by the dynamic students from Queen's who have chosen to spend 12 or 16 months working in business and industry in an area of employment related to their field of study. Last year the program grew by 25% and this year is looking even better.
An internship is a professionally supervised, career-related position designed to offer second or third year students the opportunity to learn about current advances, practices and technologies in business and industry. In return, students bring to the workplace creativity and a fresh approach, a high level of enthusiasm and commitment, a drive to succeed and a pronounced willingness to learn.
Due to the longer work term (compared to a four-month co-op), employers can maximize their investment in training and resources. Students can be offered the opportunity to manage more extensive and significant projects.
