Golden Apple Award

The Golden Apple Award is an award given by the Engineering Society to professors who have been nominated by their Engineering students. This nomination is based on the professor's enthusiasm and interest in the students and engineering activities. The award may not be given to a professor who has received a Golden Apple within the last four years. There are approximately three Golden Apples awarded annually. The recipients are:

The Frank Knox Award for Excellence in Teaching

Each year, the Alma Mater Society recognizes two Queen's professors who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the education of students. This is accomplished through the awarding of the Frank Knox Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award is named in honour of Dr. Frank Knox, who was a professor of economics at Queen's for over forty years, from the 1920s to the 1960s.

The Alumni Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching

The Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching has been presented by the Alumni Association each year since 1975 to honour faculty who show "outstanding knowledge, teaching ability, and accessibility to students." Any member of Queen's faculty can be nominated by alumni, teaching colleagues, students, or staff.
